Sure. [ He still doesn't look entirely convinced. If things fall apart on Cecil's end, how easy would it be for this guy to throw him off the boat? It was nice, but he couldn't rely on Cecil. He had to make his own plans meanwhile, in case none of this turned out right. ]

How do you know your ... guy will be safe if the Yao's brought down?

[ If you actually follow through on any of those other plans, you'll be even more than Cecil has hoped for. ]

Carlos, you mean. [ He doesn't know. Like everything else. But he does have to try. Carlos would. He would try. ]

...Whatever happens to us will happen to him also, in the end. He is one of us. He and you and I, and everyone we know in Haven. Even Junko and the others. All of us are all the same. Whichever way the pendulum swings, none of us will escape our single unified fate, whatever it is.

We're not all the same. [ He says a bit too quickly, because he doesn't like that type of thinking. Not one bit. But there're more important matters than arguing over philosophical technicalities. ]

[ That's fine. And it's better that way, he thinks. Jet may need to capture and kill all of them some day, after all. Better for him to think they're different, even if Cecil knows it is a lie. ]
